Justinas Marcinkevicius Prienai Public Library and its branches implemented a 3-module residents’ digital competence training programme. The groups of students were divided according to the needs, knowledge and skills, and with regard to the workplaces that the library included (public access points) employing equipment received for the purposes of the project.
Residents’ digital competence training programme included the following 3 modules:
Module 1 “For the Non-Brave” (20 academic hours) – for beginners that did not have digital competence knowledge and skills who were afraid to start using a computer;
Module 2 “For the Unconfident” (20 academic hours) – for advanced users who had some knowledge and skills yet were not confident in their abilities and who wanted to get more knowledge and find out more ways to use a computer and the Internet;
Module 3 “For the Non-Applicable” (10 academic hours) – for those residents who wished to expand their skills of Internet use and learn how to use electronic government and business services, i. e. to employ a computer and the Internet for daily life needs and improve their life quality (bank, declaration, health care services, job search, leisure, etc.). This project trained 485 Prienai residents.
